I believe it has a good reputation. As mentioned before, you do not have to donate if you dont want. I would definitely recommend you join both the women of road scholar and friends of road scholar pages. You will find people on there who have done the amazon trip. I did find this family trip with road scholar, 11 days, dec. 26~jan. 5th. By reading the posts, realized they were for old people. And the lady who i talked to over the phone kept. I am interested in going on a small group hiking trip with road scholar this fall. I retired a few months ago and am 58 years old. Would i be one of the youngest in the group?. We paid our $500 deposit and our final payment of about $7000 was due march 8th. Shortly before march 8th we called them. We did the road scholar multi sport adventure in costa rica this year in august. We had a group of 12 who were all friendly, adventurous people along with a fantastic guide. Roadscholar was fine prior to covid minus the fact that they always say everything is included, but that is not true.
